MMA Fighter C.B. Dollaway promoted to black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

This week saw C.B. Dollaway promoted to the rank of black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Originally doing wrestling as a highschool prodigy. Since then, he went pro in MMA back in 2006 and eventually went on to fight in both UFC and Rizin.

During his time as a fighter, he’s also had three submission victories and has achieved wins over the likes of Ed Herman, Jason Miller, and Jay Silva. He was promoted to black belt by his teacher Jair Lourenço Gurgel who also promoted Ryan Bader at the same time.

C.B. Dollaway has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 15 years and upon getting his black belt, said “The last four years with Jair Lourenço Gurgel who also promoted as our head coach I have been able to see what martial arts were all about not only is Jair a tremendous coach but more importantly he is an outstanding human being he is one of the most big hearted, respectful, and loyal people I have had the pleasure of training with in my lifetime! Definitely look forward to many more years of training together coach. It was awesome to see my teammate and friend Ryan Bader receive his black belt today as well! Also to have so many people that I have had the privilege of training with over the years stop by the gym today made it even better”
