WWE Wrestler MVP Wins IBJJF Worlds Masters

The wrestler MVP who is also known in the ring as Montel Vontavious Porter won the IBJJF masters at purple belt last weekend. He was immediately promoted to brown belt by his professor when he took 1st place.

It is fairly well known that MVP who’s real name is Hassan Hamin Assad has been competing in BJJ tournaments for a good few years. However, despite his athletic and technical ability MVP had never been able to win a masters gold until now. He states on his instagram account that this was his 4th attempt before winning, which is still not bad going considering the level of competition.

The miami born wrestler is 47 years old and has recently been resigned to WWE after spending 10 years signed to various other wrestling promotions.

MVP is a natural athlete and still in incredible shape considering he is not too far from his 50th birthday. MVP’s WWE wrestling profile states he is 6’3 and 117kg, making him a formidable challenge to anyone who is competing at IBJJF events.

He is also not stranger to the MMA and catch wrestling world having been photographed in the past with the likes of Josh Barnett, claiming he had the heaviest side control he has ever experienced! I am sure a lot of people feel this way.
