Last night saw two submissions in the UFC. One was during the main card where middleweight Darren Stewart Guillotine choked Maki Pitolo in the first round. This was enough to give ‘The Dentist’ his twelfth professional win but also the performance bonus of the night.
This came after a short exchange of stand up. Stewart then collected the head of Pitolo and finished with a high elbow Guillotine on the ground.
The second submission took place in the preliminary card. Here the Canadian Gavin Tucker got an impressive Rear Naked choke on Justin Jaymes taking his tally to 12-1. This was the fourth Rear Naked choke of Tucker’s professional career which is fast becoming his specialist move.
After taking the back, Tucker showed his experience by locking a body Triangle. From there he attacked both sides of the choke with both arms. This put Jaymes on the defensive and eventually Tucker made a breakthrough and got to the throat.
This took place in round three and like Stewart was enough to earn Tucker the undercard performance of the night bonus.
