Yesterday it was confirmed that UFC Champion Israel Adesanya received his purple belt from Andre Galvao. The news spread as it seemed that Adesanya was genuinely shocked and in awe of his new ranking.
Today, his professor Andre Galvao uploaded a video which featured speeches from the both of them. Galvao gave the belt by surprise after pretending to use Adesanya as a dummy whilst on his back.
Adesanya was pleasantly surprised and even cried. This shows just how much it meant to him as he shared an emotional reaction to the belt upgrade. He said “I love knocking people out, but now it’s time to start tapping them out!”
