Talking to Yannis Pappas on his JRE podcast, Joe Rogan had a lot of complimentary words to say about wrestling. More specifically, Rogan said “Wrestling has no glory. The people that get into wrestling is the pursuit. It’s not like a Bentley, a mansion, watches and rings and all that bulls***. The glory is in victory, the pursuit. It’s victory in the most difficult of circumstances which is amateur, high level world class wrestling. It’s so hard. There’s a mindset that they have, it’s so interesting to be around them. They’re that calm, they have that mindset that very few people outside of wrestling ever reach.”
As anyone who has ever rolled with a wrestler will know, they are incredibly tough and difficult to spar against. Undoubtedly they have a tough work ethic which is rarely matched in other martial arts.
