Although many high-profile MMA fighters and BJJ practitioners have suffered from Covid19 over the past year, most have survived. Sadly, this wasn’t the case for MMA veteran and BJJ black belt Robert Villegas. Villegas passed away this week and was a black belt under the legendary Draculino.
Villegas had a professional MMA record of 8-3 and was something of a submission specialist, with all but one of his victories coming by submission. What is even more devastating about his death is that he was only 45 years old and also leaves behind a family and is sadly one of many who have now passed from the virus.
