This week saw UK rap artist Tinie Tempah promoted to blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Tempah (real name Patrick Okogwu) was promoted by Carlos Santos at the Re-Org gym in London, where the likes of Tom Hardy and other celebrities also train.
According to Re-Org, Tempah said “Jiu Jitsu helps keep me sane” as he smiled after a session in the gi. He also added, “I got into jiu-jitsu a couple of years ago and it is incredible but really tough. I had done other martial arts before and a bit of boxing, but this really takes it to another level.”
Tinie Tempah is best known for his number one hit ‘Pass Out’ in 2010 which elevated him to stardom. Ironically, he is now well versed in the art of making people pass out in the form of strangulation!
