Fresh off his recent ADCC qualification, John Danaher student Dan Manasoiu recently challenged Muslim Patsarigov to a grappling match. This would potentially take place at Grapplefest on the 23rd of February 2022, in Liverpool UK.
According to Dan’s Instagram post, he has put up $70,000 of his own money to fight Patsarigov which has been agreed to be held in an escrow account by the owner of Grapplefest. It is unknown how much money he expects Patsarigov to put up, if any at all. Obviously though, this is a sign of intent from Manasoiu who is clearly confident in his abilities.
There is a good reason for this too. On his ADCC 2022 run, he successfully defeated Patsarigov via submission in the European trials, as well as slamming him with a legal takedown as well. Since then, Manasoiu has had issues with Patsarigov, who he claimed to have threatened him as well.
Furthermore, after recently losing to Dan’s teammate Oliver Taza at an IBJJF event, Patsarigov slapped Taza out of frustration and stormed off which went viral as a result. Here, many commented on the poor attitude of Patsarigov who has a history of unpleasant behavior whilst competing.
Stay tuned to see if this one actually happens. Clearly, Dan is not very happy with Patsarigov so hopefully they can settle their differences with Jiu Jitsu.
