Garry Tonon wins MMA bout with first-round submission

Garry Tonon delivered a decisive performance in the opening round of his featherweight clash with Martin Nguyen at ONE 165 on January 28, 2024. This pivotal matchup, pitting two top-ranked contenders (both positioned within the top 3) within the ONE Championship featherweight division, saw Tonon utilize his superior grappling artistry to secure a swift submission victory, solidifying his position as a leading contender for the championship title.

Following a strategic takedown, Tonon expertly took Nguyen’s back and established a body triangle, swiftly demonstrating his technical advantage.
