Today saw the Ruotolo brothers promoted to brown belt by their professor Andre Galvao at ATOS HQ. In all honesty, their promotion wasn’t too surprising given the context of their achievements whilst at purple belt as they’ve continued to make a name for themselves.
Their Instagram post read: “A couple weeks ago marked 14 years of Jiu Jitsu for us and this is our last year as juveniles. Our mission remains the same since day one. To always keep learning and improving and moving forward.
Thanks to our Professor and to everyone who supports us and helps us get better everyday. Looking forward to the challenges now as brown belts.”
It will be interesting to see how they do as brown belts. It’s no secret that they enjoy leg locks as seen by Paulo Miyao’s infamous kneebar against Paulo Miyao at the 2019 ADCC Championships. Not only this, but they often use toeholds as part of their leg-pin-passing formula.
