It makes sense that WWE wrestlers sometimes train BJJ, seeing as they’re both based on grappling and have a lot of crossover. This was seen when ex-WWE wrestler Dave Bautista was seen training with MVP (also known as Hassan Hamin Assad).
On MVP’s Instagram, he wrote “I had a great time training with Professor Matt and Dave this evening! Good technique and quality rounds! I needed that!” – here, MVP was wearing a brown belt, whereas Bautista was wearing a purple belt in the gi.
Both have trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a number of years now, with MVP previously winning the IBJJF Worlds Masters gold as a purple belt. Elsewhere, Bautista has also previously fought in MMA – where he had one fight and won in the first round.
As you can imagine, training with these two would be quite an experience – with both men being towering giants. Not only this but due to their wrestling days, they’d also be incredibly strong and athletic.
