Today saw the IBJJF release a quick video on their severe foul list which was updated for 2021. The video showed various moves that resulted in an instant disqualification. The likes of illegal grips whilst defending a submission, putting the thumb into the opponent’s windpipe and knee reaping all featured amongst other fouls.
Interestingly, the video also showed these instances in action. Instead of just releasing their PDF list like usual, the IBJJF actually showed these problems with video examples too. So, if you’re a competitor who wants visual clarification of the do’s and don’ts of IBJJF competition, then this may be worth giving a watch.
