Last week, it was revealed that the B-Team has a new member. On their official YouTube channel, a video called ‘Welcome to the B-Team’ was uploaded, which featured an interview with their latest member, Declan Moody.
Moody is a 27-year-old grappler from Australia who won the ADCC Asian Oceania trails last year. Here, he follows in the footsteps of his fellow countrymen such as Craig Jones and Lachlan Giles. This was accomplished in the -99KG division which means that theoretically, Moody could be facing some of his fellow B-Team members in this years ADCC.
Moody referenced his arrival on Instagram, writing: ‘Blessed to be officially welcomed to the team. For the full interview check the link in my Bio and the @bteamjj YouTube channel.’
Before making the move to Austin, Moody previously trained out of M16/Beachside Jiu Jitsu which is located in Brighton, Australia. However, Moody is no stranger to the B-Team and had previously visited them several times over the past few years.
One of Australia’s biggest upcoming talents, Moody first got his black belt in 2019 but since then has switched his main focus to no-gi as opposed to the gi. Like Craig Jones and Izaak Michell before him, it looks like Moody has now made the permanent switch to train in Austin which has become a hub for no-gi BJJ in recent years.
